My Purpose
History is the subject where the light was always shut out on, due to stories we've written in textbooks. As an elementary social studies teacher, my goal/objective is very lucid. As a social studies teacher, I want to make sure I'm enabling students to understand, participate in, and make informed decisions about our world.
Elementary Social Studies Philosophy
My purpose for teaching Social Studies is to help our students gain the knowledge necessary to make informed and educated decisions for the overall good of society. All students are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially.
I believe the children are our future, I believe each and every child has their own potential to bring something special to the world. I will present curriculum that involves the interests of the children and makes learning relevant to life. I will incorporate themes, projects, group work, individual work, integrate units, and hands-on learning in order to my students active learners.
